By the end of fifth grade you can expect your child to:

9. Research a topic using a variety of sources and use the features of books (e.g. index, table of contents).
10. Identify conflict, climax and resolution in a story.
11. Write an organized, multi paragraph composition in sequential order with a central idea.
12. Use problem-solving strategies to solve real-world math problems.
13. Add and subtract fractions and decimals.
14. Identify and describe three dimensional shapes, and find their volumes and surface areas.
15. Use long division to divide larger multi digit numbers by multi digit numbers (86,554/392)
16. Know and understand the seven sacraments.
17. Have a greater understanding of the New Testament.
