Americanism Essay Contest
Our third through sixth grade students participate in the American Legion Americanism Essay contest. They create an essay relative to a patriotic theme. It is a great way to identify an appreciation for their country and express this appreciation.
Catholic Schools Week Spelling Bee
Our Spelling Bee is conducted during Catholic Schools Week. We have a Primary and Intermediate Spelling Bee. Studying for this Spelling Bee increases our students' vocabulary and offers them one more opportunity to feel the exhilaration of a competition while practicing skills of good sportsmanship.
Catholic Schools Week KRYPTO
Our KRYPTO Competition is conducted during Catholic Schools Week. Students in third through sixth grades participate in this mathematics skill building activity. It is a thinking outside of the box activity that is fun for all.
Elks Drug-Free Essay and Poster Contest
This contest is sponsored by the local Elks Club in an effort to promote a drug-free life. Our fourth and fifth grade students create posters and our sixth grade students write essays that support the established theme. Winners at the local level move on to the state level. Last year we had a PA State winner!
Fire Prevention Essay Contest
This contest is sponsored by our area's many fire departments. Its purpose is to educate children about the dangers of fire, how to prevent fires, as well as escape them. Children in sixth grade participate.
Catholic Daughters of America Poetry and Poster Contest
This contest is sponsored by our local Catholic Daughters of the Americas chapter. Its offers an opportunity for students an opportunity to be creative as they focus on themes of their faith.
VFW Buddy Poppy Project
This contest is sponsored by our local VFW. It allows our third, fourth, and fifth grade students to show their appreciation for our veterans by creating displays with the familiar red poppies.
